Vice Mayor Qi Yanjun
Mr. Qi Yanjun, of the Han nationality, born in Laiwu, Shandong province in October 1964, joined the Communist Party of China in June 1991 and began his career in July 1984. Mr. Qi is a doctor of engineering and a senior engineer, obtained his master's degree as an on-the-job postgraduate student from the University of Science and Technology of China, majoring in safety science and engineering, and earned his bachelor's degree in industrial and civil engineering from Shandong Jianzhu University. He is currently Vice Mayor of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, a member of the CPC Leadership Group of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director General, and Chief Inspector of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, and Deputy Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.
Responsibilities: Mr. Qi Yanjun is in charge of public security and judicial work.
He oversees Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice.
Mr. Qi Yanjun is in charge of liaison with Beijing National Security Bureau, Beijing Municipal Corps of People's Armed Police and Beijing General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection.
The previous leadership positions he held include:
Deputy Head of the General Fire and Rescue Brigade of Shandong Province and Head of its Fire Prevention Supervision Department;
Director General (Head) of the General Fire and Rescue Brigade of Henan Province;
Deputy Director General of the Fire Department of the Ministry of Public Security and Director of its Fire Prevention Supervision Division;
Head of the Fire Department of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau (General Fire and Rescue Brigade of Beijing Municipality);
Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director General, and Executive Deputy Director General of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.
