Vice Mayor Zhang Jiandong
Mr. Zhang Jiandong, of the Han nationality, born in Laoting, Hebei Province in July 1962, joined the Communist Party of China in December 1982, and then started his career in August 1983. He is a researcher and associate professor. He has a PhD in management, obtained his master's degree (majoring in education economics and management) from an in-service graduate program at Beijing Normal University. He is currently a member of the 13th National People's Congress, Vice Mayor of Beijing, a member of the CPC Leadership Group of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, Executive Vice President and a member of the CPC Leadership Group of Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Responsibilities: Mr. Zhang Jiandong is in charge of sports and preparation for the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Mr. Zhang Jiandong also oversees the work of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports and Beijing Olympic City Development Center.

Member of the Education Work Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, Deputy Director General of Beijing Municipal Education Commission;
Deputy Secretary General (director general level) of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality;
Deputy Party Secretary, Acting District Mayor and then District Mayor of Beijing Xicheng District;
Secretary of the CPC Beijing Huairou District Committee;
Director-General and Secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform.
