On December 30, 2023, the Wangfujing Xiyue (Joy) Shopping Center, located on the south side of Wangfujing Walkway, officially opened as the first New China-Chic Shopping Center. Formerly known as the Beijing Mall, this shopping destination will cater to a youthful and fashion-conscious audience and serve as a vibrant social gathering place, emphasizing the China-chic experience and showcasing the momentum of urban renewal.

Xiyue will introduce 71 first stores in Beijing, 61 of which will be the first in the Wangfujing area, and many of these are distinctive trendy brands. These first stores span six diverse categories, including music, art, sports, commercial retail, anime culture, and immersive entertainment. Consumers will have the opportunity to enjoy vinyl records, learn skateboard tricks, immerse themselves in the anime world, and experience numerous fascinating and enchanting interactive installations that are perfect for taking photos.

Furthermore, the food section brings together unique and heritage-rich snacks and cuisines from various regions across the country, alongside several top-tier chain catering brands. The trendy recreation zone predominantly features trendy toys, figurines, and ACG culture, creating a cultural haven for young consumers to engage in real-time socializing, sharing, and gathering.

It is reported that Wangfujing Xiyue is the first major urban renewal project in Dongcheng District, preserving the enduring cultural essence of Wangfujing Street while infusing it with a lively and captivating human touch.
