China International Exhibition Center (Chaoyang Hall) was the first national-level exhibition hall built under the approval of the State Council, and was ranked first among Beijing's top ten buildings in the 1980s.

China International Exhibition Center (Chaoyang Hall) includes 8 exhibition halls, with indoor area of over 60,000 square meteres and outdoor area of 7,000square meteres. After more than 30 years of development, nearly 100 exhibitions and activities are held there every year, covering a total exhibition area of over 2 million square meteres. It attracts wide recognition from domestic and foreign exhibitors for the highest occupancy rate and top position in the industry. Since the completion of the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall) Phase 1 in 2008, the two halls have improved their overall coordination, professionalism of management and integration of operations. Chaoyang Hall has also played a role of an incubator, cultivating and transferring large exhibitions to Shunyi Hall.
