From October 21 to December 20, the 2023 "Pure Classical" concert series of the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) is set to dazzle audience with some of today's top-tier classical maestros and ensembles to perform on stage. Among them, the concentrated visit of seven world-renowned conductors will fully demonstrate the boundless charm of Beijing as a "City of Performing Arts".

On October 21 and 22, Teodor Currentzis, a conductor, and MusicAeterna Orchestra will make their debut in China. They will perform some classic melodies composed by Rimsky-Korsakov, Rachmaninoff, and Prokofiev, raising the curtain for the NCPA "Pure Classical" Series with two Russian-style orchestral feasts!

Moving forward, Valery Gergiev with Mariinsky Orchestra and Chorus, Christian Thielemann with Staatskapelle Dresden, Zubin Mehta with Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, and Iván Fischer with Budapest Festival Orchestra will present on stage. In addition, Daniele Gatti and Myung-hun Chung will team up with the China NCPA Orchestra. The 87-year-old Zubin Mehta will also conduct the China NCPA Orchestra to perform Verdi's opera "Aida".
