The China National Opera House Theater is around 138 meters from east to west and 56 meters from north to south, with an overall height of 47.2 meters and a total floor area of 41,000 square meters. The building expands four floors underground and eight above ground, with core functions of hosting major operas, dance dramas, ballet and other events.

Regarding the visual motif, the "phoenix" element is predominant throughout the whole building and the indoor space of the theater. The gold color of the architecture intertwines with red inside the building, which better conforms to the concept of Chinese cultural elements merging with the classical European architectural style.

The venue is a professional opera theater with China's largest orchestral pit, and China's only opera house featuring "balcony boxes".
