Property of China National Peking Opera Company, and with five storeys above ground and a further two underground, the theater covers an area of over 13,000 square meters and holds 980 seats, ideal for multiple purposes, including hosting performances, exhibitions, conferences, and audio/video recording.

Mei Lanfang Grand Theater stands as a landmark at the intersection between bustling Financial Street and ancient-style Ping'an Street. The exterior of the theater with a steel-supported fan-shaped roof truss and glass walls, reflects modern design concepts, forming a dynamic system of structural balance and creating a smooth, impressive and melodious architecture. Its interior represents quintessential traditional Chinese architecture: red pillars and walls embedded with dozens of round gold-painted wooden reliefs, each showcasing the best of Peking Opera.
