The National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) is a major public cultural facility funded and constructed by the Chinese government for the 21st century. NCPA, a world-class national performing arts center, integrates multiple functions including staging of performances, drama production, art popularization and education, art exchange, event hosting and development of creative products.

NCPA's main activity is the production and staging of excellent stage art products, with a focus on five categories of performance: opera, music, dancing, drama and traditional Chinese opera. From 2007 to 2020, NCPA produced 94 dramas and plays, of which 33 were original. NCPA has its own chorus, orchestra, drama ensemble, opera ensemble, and BDA youth dance troupe.
