The Temple of Earth and Me Book Fair is set to take place in Beijing from September 8 to 18 in Ditan Park, otherwise known as the Temple of Earth. The 2023 iteration of the fair will run for 11 days and spread over a whopping 15,000 square meters of exhibition space consisting of eight major exhibition areas and 350 booths. A total of 208 exhibitors are expected to showcase more than 400,000 books, and visitors will have the chance to take part in nearly 100 planned activities, from interactive reading sessions and promotions to book signings and live-streaming.

The Beijing Culture Exhibition Area will focus on traditional Chinese literature and the books of antiquity with items of intangible cultural heritage, among which the Eight Great Sights of Yanjing, traditional Beijing windmills, and sugar sculptures and paintings are expected to figure prominently with a display of associated techniques and products.

The Children's Exhibition Area will feature high-quality books for children from picture books to literature for young adults, educational toys, and cultural and creative products. The Area will also host a classic reading area, an edutainment area, and a shadow puppets area for experiences.

The Foreign Books Exhibition Area will consist of Foreign Language Children's Books and Arts zones and an area dedicated to Harry Potter. Here you will find over 5,000 foreign-language works, 1,000 foreign-language audiovisual items, and classical music alongside domestic Hi-Fi CDs.

The Special Cultural and Creative Area will be made up of 22 booths showcasing distinctive cultural and creative items, including China-chic, Zhongshan Park creativity, and Panjiayuan market souvenirs to go with no lack of trendy items, artwork, stationery, and other featured products.

Admission to the 2023 book fair is free, and visitors will have a chance to participate in the "Buy a Book, Donate to Disaster Relief" initiative, raising funds for areas affected by recent flooding.
