Chunshu Library, located at No. 9, Luomashi Avenue, is a traditional siheyuan (courtyard house) with two front entrances. Dating back to the 1910s, the library boasts a collection of more than 15,000 books and used to be the old residence of Lin Baishui, a notable figure in China's newspaper industry. Nowadays, the library is a complex combining a public library, featured reading spaces, the Memorial Hall of Martyr Lin Baishui, and other facilities.

In accordance with the relevant standards of re-utilizing ancient buildings and cultural relics, Chunshu Subdistrict has transformed the library into China's first citizens' cultural public activity space combining a community library and a museum.

Wholly built in a traditional Chinese style, this courtyard house has a simple yet elegant layout, with each of its reading spaces having a specific function.

"Clean as water" is an idiom used for describing someone with a strong belief and unyielding character and fits perfectly to describe the life of martyr Lin Baishui. The idiom is also the goal the library is striving for. It harbors the spirit of the old literati that has resulted in the popularization of fine literary works and the longevity of the literary spirit.
