The 2023 Culture Xicheng District Food Festival (hereinafter referred to as the "Festival") featuring various sub-events including the Summer Beer Festival was recently launched and will last until October 15. The festival features a total of "4+4+N" sub-event series, namely four online series, four offline series, and more than 30 other themed sub-events.

The offline sub-events of the Festival this year include the 2023 Summer Beer Festival, Beijing's first International "New" Tea Carnival, the Chinese Food Highlights, and the Food Exhibition of China's Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

The Summer Beer Festival will be held at Zen Garden on the first floor of the Westin Beijing Chaoyang Hotel, Route 66 Restaurant Bar on the second floor of Xixi Youyi Hotel, No.78 Jiugulou Street, Xibianmen City Wall, and Dongcha Small Square at Baita Temple, among others simultaneously.

Representatives of more than 40 tea enterprises and tea snack enterprises in China and other countries will be invited to Beijing Fun, the venue of the International "New" Tea Carnival, to launch a featured tea market. More than 10 top bartenders in Beijing will also be invited to make various cocktails on-site.

For the Chinese Food Highlights, offices of more than 40 provincial and municipal governments in Beijing are holding exhibitions and tasting sub-events involving gastronomical specialties from all over China at Jinke Square.

During the Food Exhibition of China's Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, gastronomical offers from the three places are presented to the public at Haiqingyuan Garden and on huafang boats (traditional Chinese-style sightseeing boats) in Shichahai. People can taste food while enjoying folk songs and dance performances, to better understand the cuisines, folk cultures and histories of the three places.

Online sub-events include the evaluations of trendy and popular dishes, the distribution of coupons via a platform dedicated to trendy dishes, several live-streaming sessions featuring tasty food, and virtual trips to food destinations.

The WeChat official account "Xicheng Consumption" will set up a special page to distribute consumption coupons to its users. The partner financial institutions such as the China Construction Bank will also release special coupons for dining in Xicheng. At the same time, the food check-in map will be released, and diners will also get discounts when they try the food at the offline venues concerned.

During the Festival, food vloggers and famous chefs will be invited to broadcast live at different sub-venues to share the processes of cooking and the stories behind various dishes.

An online evaluation of popular specialties made by catering businesses is also underway to decide the winners of the titles of "Trendy Dishes" and "Star Dishes" of Xicheng District in 2023, with a list of the most favored dishes to be released afterward.
