These long-established restaurants include Duyichu (Qianmen), Quanjude (Qianmen), Tianxingju (Xianyukou), Bianyifang (New World Shopping Mall) and Senlong Restaurant (New World Shopping Mall). Of these, Bianyifang is one of the first "China Time-honored Brands" recognized by the Ministry of Commerce. Their stewed roast duck cooking technique is listed as China's national intangible cultural heritage. Senlong Restaurant, formerly "Sishichun Restaurant", mainly serves Huaiyang cuisine, as well as British, French and Russian-style dishes and Chinese-style vegetarian food. Duyichu Shaomai, founded in the third year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (AD 1738), serves shaomai (steamed dumplings) that features a 16-step process starting with dough kneading and have 24 folds representing the 24 Chinese solar terms.

"These restaurants are all traditional brands well known in China and throughout the world. They demonstrate the business features of Dongcheng District with the old flavors and profound cultural connotations of Beijing," said an official from Dongcheng District Commerce Bureau.
