As the Chinese New Year approaches, Beijing has launched a series of campaigns to promote consumption under the theme of "Jing Cai Guo Nian" (which means "Enjoy the Splendid Chinese New Year in Beijing"). Over 1,000 events will be launched in four categories, namely "Discounts on Special Purchases for the Chinese New Year", "Festive Food Delights", "Festive Spirit", and "Ice and Snow Experiences".

The category "Discounts on Special Purchases for the Chinese New Year" features unique festive goods, high-quality products with discounts, and more. A shopping festival for festive goods is now in full swing. Many malls and shopping centers in Beijing have set up exclusive sections for festive goods. An online shopping festival "Beijing's Flavors Online: Wish You a Happy Chinese New Year" began on January 18 and will continue until February 24. Major online shopping platforms including JD.com, Taobao, Meituan, Douyin and Kuaishou have launched special sections for festive goods.

The category "Festive Food Delights" features various foods. As part of the ongoing "Fourth Beijing Hot Pot Food Culture Festival", various campaigns such as "Tastes of Beijing: Hot Pot Festival Wakes up Entire City" discount weeks will be launched.

The category "Festive Spirit" includes temple fairs and lantern festivals, among others. A total of 2,600 sessions of 1,371 public cultural events will be launched throughout the city. The highlights will be the "Visits to Ten Major Temple Fairs", including the Changdian Temple Fair and the temple fairs held at the Great Wall.

The category "Ice and Snow Experiences" covers temple fairs, lantern festivals and trips to Beijing's suburbs, which are expected to stimulate ice-and-snow consumption. The Beijing Ice and Snow Sports Consumption Season, the 13th Bird's Nest Happy Ice and Snow Festival, the Beijing Ice and Snow Sports Consumption Season at the "Ice Ribbon" (National Speed Skating Oval), Chaoyang District Ice and Snow Sports Consumption Season, and many other related events are now ongoing. These events offer winter sports experiences and promote consumption campaigns, including those for ice and snow gear, in cooperation with over ten business districts, more than 100 brands, and several winter sports venues in Beijing.
