The Beijing-Tokyo online economic conference was held recently. It is also the 18th online video conference held by Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries under the theme 'online dialogue on people to people cooperation'.

The Beijing-Tokyo online economic conference is co-organized by Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Tokyo Japan-China Friendship Association, Beijing Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Beijing Daxing International Business Service Co., Ltd.

Under the theme 'exchange and cooperation, shared achievements', the online video conference discussed the economic and trade cooperation between the two nations in the post epidemic era. Representatives from both Chinese and Japanese companies exchanged information on the latest developments in various industries and shared the cooperation they carried out amid the fight against the pandemic.

Japan is a close neighboring country, Beijing and Tokyo have been sister-cities for decades. In her keynote speech, Zhang Qian, executive vice president of the BPAFFC, said that the conference aimed to promote bilateral economic exchange and cooperation between Beijing and Tokyo in the post pandemic era, and further boost the resumption of business on both sides.

Tokuichiro Utunomiya, president of Tokyo Japan-China Friendship Association, said that the conference established a wonderful online exchange platform for both Chinese and Japanese companies in Beijing and Tokyo. Taking the Tokyo Olympic Games and Beijing Winter Olympic Games as opportunities, he hoped to work closely with all relevant parities including Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries to make continuous contribution to deepen exchange and cooperation between the two cities in many fields.

The Beijing China-Japan Innovation Cooperation Demonstration Zone was first of its kind approved by the Ministry of Reform and Development. Zhang Chi, the deputy general manager of Beijing Daxing International Business Service Co., Ltd, briefed on the policies introduced in the Demonstration Zone, which aims to create a high-quality international platform to push forward innovation cooperation between China and Japan.

In the exchange session, representatives from Chinese and Japanese companies also exchanged potential business cooperation opportunities in sectors including high-tech and cultural ones.
