The construction of Huairou-Miyun Medical Center of Peking University was launched in the east section of Huairou Science City in early December 2023. Peking University Health Science Center located at 38 Xueyuan Road in Haidian has initiated a new development opportunity by starting the construction of this new medical center which will be situated at 38 Xitong Road in Miyun District. The suburban region where the medical center will stand is evolving into a hub for original innovation in medical research based on cutting-edge technologies around the globe.

A wide array of national-level laboratories, comprehensive national science centers, new-type R&D institutions, high-level research universities, and innovation entities of all kinds already call Huairou Science City home. Over 40 major science facilities have endowed the region with China's most comprehensive system of strategic sci-tech capacities and the world's highest density of key sci-tech infrastructure.

Huairou Science City's scientific research institutions also attract researchers from across China and all over the world. With a strong emphasis on integrating urban and scientific development, the region aims to foster a scientist-driven environment with high-quality infrastructure and public service support, to make it a livable and researcher-friendly "city powered by sci-tech elements".
