The 1st Snow Village Cultural Festival and the 2nd Great Wall Food Festival were officially launched in Simatai Village, Gubeikou Town, Miyun District, Beijing. This marks the beginning of the winter ice and snow tourism season in Gubeikou.

The two festivals this year center on the concept of "Great Wall Snow Village" and focus on providing seasonal experiences for children and their parents. Visitors can enjoy a variety of ice and snow recreational activities, such as ski trails for competitions, Zorbing balls, and ice sledges with their families in Simatai Village. In addition, the lively food market in the village offers a wide range of delicious snacks for visitors to sample. Visitors can also join friends and families to enjoy themselves at the special venue for home parties. At tranquil and elegant rural homestays, visitors can savor Gubeikou's distinctive local dishes, including pot-roasted meat and stone pot stew carefully prepared by the owners.

It is reported that the two festivals will continue until February 2024. During this period, a series of events, including the "Great Wall Hot Pot Festival", will be rolled out one after another.
