Shougang Ski Jumping Platform is the first competition venue delivered for use for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, with supporting facilities set to be completed by the end of June.

BEIJING, March 13 (Xinhua) -- The supporting facilities of the Shougang Ski Jumping Platform, one of the competition venues for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, will be completed by the end of June this year, the project operator confirmed on Saturday.

The Platform is the first competition venue delivered for use for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the only competition venue located in downtown Beijing for snow sports.

Fu Xiaoming, vice general manager of the Capital Development Investment Fund, said the main operation center of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games game-time command system was delivered in January this year and is currently conducting testing activities. The Winter Olympic Games technical operation center, and its affiliated communication hub, have been delivered for equipment installation and will be completed in June.

According to Fu, the Winter Olympic power command center will also be completed in June this year. The comprehensive building and the service building are scheduled to be completed in May. Before the Winter Olympics, a total of 22 restaurants, including the world's first McDonald's flagship store which will open in September this year, will be introduced.

Located in Shougang's former steel plant site in western Beijing, the Shougang Ski Jumping Platform will witness four gold medals contested during next year's Winter Olympics.

Thanks to the Winter Olympic Games, the Shougang industrial area has transformed into a sport and cultural park and is expected to receive more visitors in the future.
